We are very excited to be working with the Stratford upon Avon Art Society. We have three dates in March where a local Artist will be at Stalls either painting or sculpting in the showroom. There is an opportunity to talk to the artist and purchase any of their artwork on the day. The Artists’ will be in the showroom from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

Wednesday March 16th  Deborah Collum
Deborah explores colour and texture using a variety of materials.
Her focus is domestic and although there is a narrative to the work it concentrates on small, private details, suggesting rather than informing or describing, and in this sense she believes it to be feminine, possibly feminist in nature. She finds fabric a particularly empathetic medium as each piece has an inbuilt history and textile art intrinsically pays testament to all those women in history who stitched, knitted and mended to keep their families warm and their homes beautiful.

Wednesday March 23rd Mark Longthorn
Mark was born in Yorkshire and lived in Scarborough for 28 years before moving to Evesham in 2001 to work at a local printing company. At the age of 43 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and began to concentrate on his passion of painting and photography and has continued to develop his style in both of these two areas since then.
For two consecutive years at ‘The Mervyn Peake’ awards in London, a piece of his art work was selected to feature in the Parkinson’s UK calendar.
His artwork has been described as having a ‘unique style’ and he continues to improve and develop his work accordingly.

Thursday March 24th Betty Holden
Betty has been a member of the Stratford upon Avon Art Society for 15 years. She is a retired infant school teacher with an enthusiasm for painting local scenes and the mountains of the Lake District using traditional watercolours and pastels.
Betty’s formal training was at Homerton teacher training college, and since then I have attended many courses run by professional art tutors.
